Alexandra- Direct Key Account Manager
“My name is Alexandra and I have joined PHS in November 2023 as a Direct Key Account Manager, within Claire Jennings’ Direct Key Accounts team. While I had extensive customer service and sales background, this position was a new steppingstone in my carrier. Everyone welcomed me so warmly and have been with me every step of the way, helping with answers and training when I struggled or when faced with new situations. Claire has also given me the opportunity to shadow members from various teams of the business, such as Inbound, Customer Service, Procurement, Stock Control and Warehouse team, and I can say this has benefited me greatly as it gave me an indebt understanding of what goes on in the background, and how I can ensure my communication within my role with the rest of the teams can be influenced by other factors. My team is very supportive of each other and even when one of us is away, customers do not feel any disruptions from the great service we provide daily. I have been part of other teams, however, none so friendly, strong, cooperative, and understanding as this team.”
Erin- Dispatch Planning and Coordinator
I have been with the company nearly 8 months now I can give you a brief insight into how it has been for me so far.
As I have never worked in this industry before (operations/distribution) I have found that the training I have received and the help and assistance from colleagues has been really encouraging, it has also helped me understand what is required from my roll and how to achieve my daily goals within the business. I have been encouraged to feel confident in what I do and really feel part of the team we have here in the Glasgow warehouse, I am also grateful for the opportunities I have received as being put through as a first aider and the Representative Of Employee Health and Safety which I would not have had if not given this job roll.
Paul- National Key Account Manager
I have been with PHS/Mayflower for just over a year, joining in mid August 2023. My role is in the customer management department at PHS/Mayflower based in Glasgow but covering the UK and Ireland. I have to interact and collaborate with all the PHS/Mayflower apparatus on a daily basis to collectively deliver an excellent service to our varied customer base, successfully building trust and value through the business to business trading cycle, and managing customer expectations. I work very closely with procurement, stock control, operations, tenders and legal departments with great support and guidance from Mark Cairney. The most pleasing thing for me since joining has been the incredible help, support and encouragement I have had from all my colleagues across all the departments. The support and help I get daily from my team mates means we can confidently retain what can only be described as a very loyal customer base, which is in great testimony to everyone who worked with these clients prior to me joining the business. So whilst there is great scope for improvement it is the great will and dedication of the people, both colleagues and customers that make PHS/Mayflower a great place to work every day.
