Our commitment to charities

Within phs Group we are proud to be partnered up with Prostate Cancer UK. Together, we are raising funds for the TRANSFORM trial, a groundbreaking research effort aimed at improving how prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated. As of September 2024, we are proud to share that we have raised £143,000 for this crucial trial.

At phs, we also match fund up to £500 for employees who take part in a fundraising activity for any registered charity or community of their choice. Some of the charities include Velindre, the little princess trust, Macmillan, Bowel Movement and other local charities. We are committed to the causes our employees care about.  From the various charities our employees have selected, phs have match funded £11,283 this year alone.

Here are what some of phs people said about their fund raising events:

Charity Half Marathon Mission completed! NEIL:

Thank you to every colleague who kindly donated to either the Marie Curie or Dementia UK charities that Sally and I were raising money for - all in memory of family members we have lost in the last year. What a fantastic (very humid) day it was and so chuffed for my work buddy who smashed her first ever half marathon!

Despite torturous weather conditions, completed Snowdon! TAMMY:

Thank you to everyone for all of there support and donations.. Me and Charlotte  walked Snowdon on Saturday with our partners for The British Heart Foundation and Mind Charity, in memory of our parents.

It was a very tough one .. and after walking half way we were told to turn back around as the winds were reaching up to 80mph at the summit .. we had to go on and I am sooo glad we did!

Taffs Well depot spreading the Christmas cheer! JAMES:

This year, Taffs Well depot partnered with the University Hospital of Wales (The Heath) and LATCH; Children’s Cancer charity to donate several hundred pounds worth of Toys to Children’s ward.

For context, The Heath provides healthcare for Children with the most critical needs and will have occupied beds this Christmas. It, therefore, fills me with great pride that in a time of economic uncertainty, our service drivers have shown such great generosity to help deliver some Christmas cheer.

Merry Christmas from the Taffs at Taffs!!
