We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner to join us at phs Group, the largest hygiene services provider in the UK, and this is a great opportunity to be part of our success. You’ll be joining phs Ireland, working directly for the Managing Director as a member of the senior leadership team. You’ll be responsible for providing senior commercial and financial input, analysis, interpretation, commercial best practice, operational efficiencies, and margin improvement across our phs Ireland businesses. Financial processing (management accounts preparation, payroll, purchase ledger and credit control) is carried out at our head office. This role covers financial leadership and support to the phs Ireland businesses. In return, you will receive an excellent salary, with bonus and additional benefits.

 

Your Role as Finance Business Partner with phs Ireland

 

  • Provide proactive and meaningful financial analysis and advice on both operational issues and commercial decision-making. This includes pricing policy, investment opportunities, acquisitions, business cases, capex requirements, and the tracking of costs and benefits.
  • Support the senior leadership team in the orderly, profitable development of the business within the framework of the phs Ireland business plan.
  • Provide incisive and user-friendly management information and reporting, identifying business implications in complex data or information. Interpret variances and trends in financial data and relate these to operational performance.
  • Prepare the Division’s monthly trading reviews and board reports and present clear, meaningful results to senior leaders.
  • Co-ordinate the Division’s budget and periodic forecasting processes, providing meaningful analysis and commentary to the local management team and Group Finance department.
  • Ensure that a robust financial control infrastructure always exists, and that financial systems and reporting operate to the highest standards, with financial data accuracy being key.
  • Work with the MD, Group Pricing Team and leaders to develop pricing policies that deliver new business on acceptable commercial terms (including appropriate margin and risk evaluation) and on business processes to seek and improve operational efficiency and divisional profitability.
  • Working with the Managing Director to ensure adherence to / compliance with phs Group policies and procedures relating to internal financial control, delegated authorities, contract approval process and bank mandates.
  • Working with our Operations team to ensure proper recording and control of inventory levels.
  • Preparing relevant information to ensure that all the company’s employees are properly paid including calculation of commissions and bonuses, capture of overtime hours and other variable payment for payment.
  • Working with credit control teams to assist in their cash collection activities when required and supporting them and customer services in delivering a prompt response to relevant customer queries.
  • Ensuring that the business is operating to the highest standards and its systems and reporting are consistent with wider Group policies and guidelines.

     

    The right person for our Finance Business Partner role

     

  • A commercially astute, proactive self-starter, based in or near Dublin – a qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
  • Someone with Business Partner experience within a senior management team, who understands the key business drivers that contribute to value.
  • Experience of sustaining profitability, quality and service standards using key performance indicators and ratios to identify potential issues before they materialise.
  • You’ll demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding, without compromising financial conduct. Someone who ensures that business opportunities are appropriately evaluated to minimise risk and sustain/improve profit margins.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to contribute towards the development of strategy and policy across a range of general business issues. Someone with an open and honest approach, who communicates positively, and who can constructively challenge senior managers to prevent any harm to the business.
  • Broad financial management experience in a business-to-business service organisation who works hard, takes ownership, and gets things done.
  • Able to influence at all levels. Calm, focused, structured, and methodical, able to prioritise to meet deadlines.
