We're looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our Operations Team in Smethwick, helping to prepare equipment for customer installations and ensuring our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.

The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in preparing machinery for customer installations by carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), maintaining stock and equipment, and supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse.
You will be responsible for ensuring equipment meets quality standards before dispatch, maintaining a safe and organised working environment, and supporting operational priorities across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on machinery and equipment.
- Maintain the condition and readiness of machines stored on site.
- Support warehouse operations, stock control, and goods movements.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
- Prepare and maintain demonstration equipment and display areas for site visits.
- Ensure company systems and records are updated accurately.
- Act as a key holder, supporting site security by opening and locking the premises when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and security throughout the warehouse.
- Work closely with Operational Leadership to achieve business objectives and priorities.
- Complete all documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Attend training and development activities as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or operational environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of stock management processes.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using business systems.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence or experience operating a forklift truck.
- Basic understanding of engineering or mechanical practices.
- Experience carrying out equipment inspections or maintenance checks.
- An inquisitive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
